How to create encrypted partition on USB Pendrive

Start Master Voyager.

You see the list of available CDROM drives and connected USB Pendrives. When you see [EMPTY] text it means that media is not present in CDROM/USB Card Reader.

We click "K: [249 MB]" to open it.

When the USB Flash Drive is opened you see the available operations.

Please look at "Secure Media Partitions on K:" frame. You see two icons there "Partition Manager" and "Public Area". Partition Manager creates/deletes/modifies secure partitions on CD/DVD/USB Stick. "Public Area" is the unprotected section of the media available for everyone.

Click "Partition Manager" button to create new secure partition.

In the Partition Manager the blue bar contains information about whole USB Stick: disk label (now it is "USB Stick") and total size of the media. In our case it is 249 mb. It is empty.

This USB Pendrive has no any secure partitions and contains only public unprotected area.

Let's create new secure partition.

Click "New..." button.

Settings of secure partition on USB pendrive

Enter the name of the enw partition and enter disk label. Disk Label will be visible in system when you open secure partition (it will be available to all programs as virtual hard drive). Enable or disable "Open partition on AutoPlay" checkbox. When checked, the password for this secure partition will be automatically asked when connecting the USB Flash Drive into USB port. When not checked, the password will not be asked but it will still be possible to open the secure partition from context menu of Mobile Voyager icon (located in the tray notification area).

You can click "New..." button multiple times if you need to create several secure partitions with different passwords. In our case we see new secure partition (green bar). Master Voyager assigned name "My Documents #1" for this partition. "DISKLABEL" is the label of the virtual disk. Every secure partition will be mounted as virtual hard drive every time when you enter password. And this disklabel will be label of the virtual hard drive in mounted state.

The size of new partition is 124 MB. Use your mouse to resize the partition.

Resizing virtual partition on usb flash drive

Ok. We've just resized partition and new size is 62 mb.

We want another name for the partition. Click ... button and change the partition name and the disk label.

We rename it to "My Secret Files". And disk label will be "SECRETFILES". Windows OS allows to use disk label of upper case only. And 11 characters maximum. Master Voyager will fix invalid disk labels automatically when you press TAB button.

New name of the new secure partition has been assigned.

partmgr_usb_createdvirtpart

Use your mouse to resize the partition. It will not be possible to resize partition after creation.

Click Apply button to create new secure partition.

When Apply button is pressed, Master Voyager asks you to assign password for new partition.

partmgr_enterpassword

In the evaluation version it is allowed to enter "123" password only. In registered version it is allowed to use any password up to 32 characters in length. This password will be used to encrypt whole securepartition using AES256 bit encryption algorithm. It is enough secure for any purpose.

It will require several minutes to wait..
